Te Pihinga's First Day 2016!

The morning began with excitement as all of the children began to arrive in Te Pihinga. Mrs Spragg and Miss Sutherland were very pleased to see all of the families and children in Te Pihinga, we had a fantastic first day! 

This morning with our families we wrote an exciting part about our holiday, we were able to share about our holidays. It was great to hear what fantastic holidays and adventures you all had in Christchurch, New Zealand and abroad. Throughout the day we all worked well as a team in our amazing space! 

The swimming pool was a great way to finish our first day, we all had a blast in the water. 

I wonder what adventures we will get up to this week?

If you already have any of these items at home, please feel free to use them again this year. Mrs T and Mrs White have kept half-used books from last year for children to continue using until they are full.

NAMED PLEASE:

Both Classes Require:

• 3 x Scrapbooks (Clever Kiwi Activity A4 Scrapbook or other scrapbook of same size) for their “School Learning Book” and “Home Learning Book”
• 1 x Printing Book (LWB Learn to write book)
• 1 x Poetry Book - 1A5 40 leaf
• 1 x Book Bag (for homework and library books)

Te Kākano Children ONLY:

• 1 x Writing Book (SBK with picture space, also known as an ALWB4)

Te Pihinga Children ONLY

• 1 x writing book 1F4 Exercise Book (12mm ruled lines). No picture space.

SHARED STATIONERY - UN-NAMED Thank You:

• 6 x HB Pencils (no erasers on the ends thank you) (3 x pencils for pupils starting in Terms 3 or 4)
• 6 x Black Bullet Tip Whiteboard Markers (3 x for pupils starting in Terms 3 or 4)
• 5 x Glue Sticks Large - Pritt or Amos last the best (3 x Glue Sticks for pupils starting in Terms 3 or 4)
• 1 x Pack Crayola Twistable crayons 12s
• 1 x Packs Coloured Pencils 12s (Faber Castell last the best)
• 1 x Black Vivid Permanent Marker (BIC Stephens Vivid Fine Point)
• 1 x Eraser
• 1 x Metal Pencil Sharpener
• 2 x Box of Tissues (1 x box for pupils starting in Terms 3 or 4)

UNIFORM:

To ensure we support our children to be good self-managers, can we please request that the children have as part of their uniform:

• School shoes that they can fasten themselves and do sports in. NAMED
• Jerseys that are big enough so it is easy for them to remove and put them back on by themselves. NAMED
• Wide brimmed green school sunhats are required to be worn every day in terms 1 and 4. NAMED

We realise budgeting for the start of the year can be a juggling act, so please be aware of the following costs that will arise in Term 1.

Swimming Lessons: $TBC

Beach Ed: $TBC

Aladdin Pantomime: $3

Any future costs that arise during the year we will endeavour to let you know as soon as we do.

Other Useful Stationery Information:

The PTA sell Ezi-Cover Slip on Book covers in the first few weeks of Term 1 for those who don't like to battle with Duraseal.
