In Te Pihinga we are very creative and busy children, we love sharing our fantastic work with everyone. Lately we have been working in groups, pairs and as individuals to achieve our goals in literacy. Working together is helping us with our participation and co-operation skills.

This week we have been reading a story called 'I Like Myself' by Karen Beaumont. We have explored how we are each special and different. And most of all, how we should just like ourselves whether we are a bit wild, tame, fast, slow or have a big snout.
Have a read of the story here:
Today, as our follow up activity, we went outside to create some art of ourselves. It was hot, so we had our hats on and access to water but we loved creating. We started by watching Mrs S lie on the ground and be drawn around by Miss Sutherland. Mrs S then showed how we can decorate ourselves.
The best bit was that we got to get into pairs and then have a turn lying on the concrete and being drawn around.
We are all working on writing recounts about Show Weekend. We are learning how to do it using Book Creator. Some of us are sharing them on our own blogs and some of them are shared here.
Mr Robertson is reading the Big Book. The Three Billie Goats Gruff is coming alive.
Our personalized learners are setting up their week. They have to reflect on how they managed their learning last week and set goals for this week.
Miss Rockell is taking a reading group. They are reading about snails. Excellent discussion is happening around how hard it is to process meat versus vegetables.
William is having his 10 minutes reward time for completing his writing. Great to see William making the most of the space and zooming through his work.
It is a busy place in Te Pihinga but there is so much learning going on.
